Musoma Exhibition Success  –   “I just want to let you know that our Lake Zone Exhibition here at Musoma in Mara region, from 27th November to 2nd December went so well, so that everybody was satisfied and happy. We are now finalizing the report”. Frida Mungulu – Regional Manager Mara

Sad News

We have received the sad news that two founder members of LAZOA have died recently: the Lake Zone Artisans Organisation is the main body representing artisans in the area.

John Mponeja was the leader of the Tugeme Blacksmiths Group in Shinyanga, who made some excellent Fair Trade tools for us – adzes and root lifters. He is seen here demonstrating his prize winning pedal grinder at a past Bukoba Exhibition.

Joseph Shiglulu was an old friend of TFSR Cymru who was responsible for creating the Sengerema Centre, a large rural building which had space for up to twenty artisan groups. He also developed the Telecentre and Information Centres in Sengerema, and more recently Sengerema Business Development Services. This dealt with rural business development, assisted farmers to add value to their crops, and helped blacksmiths, carpenters and tailors groups. He will be very much missed by whole communities.

Our  workshop will be closed from Mon Dec 23rd, and re-opens on Thurs Jan 2nd

Wishing you all a very Merry Festive Season and a Happy New Year
from all at TFSR CYMRU
